Employees and permissions

Add employees, give them a register code and choose what they're allowed to do.

Updated October 20, 2026

Everyone who works the register is an employee. That includes you, if you sell yourself. This way every receipt shows who checked out the customer.

Adding an employee

  1. Go to Employees and click Add employee.
  2. Enter the name. An email address is handy if you want to set up a phone for this employee.
  3. Pick a 4-digit register code. The employee uses it to log in to the register.
  4. Check what the employee may do and save.

What an employee may do

The permissions are split into groups. For each group, you check what someone may do:

  • Items: view, add, change or delete items.
  • Barcode labels: print item labels and loose barcodes.
  • Consignors: view and add consignors, and register payouts.
  • Employees: manage other employees.
  • Register and sales: check out, view sales receipts and handle returns.
  • Accountancy: enter expenses and download files for your accountant.
  • Shop and account: change the shop settings.

Anything an employee isn't allowed to do doesn't show up in their menu either.

How an employee logs in

On a register or tablet in the shop, the employee goes to easyconsign.app/pin, picks their name and types their register code. With Lock in the menu, they log off so the next person can log in.

On their own phone it works differently. There, the phone is linked to one employee. Read more in Setting up a register or phone.

Forgot the register code

Open the employee under Employees and pick a new code. The old code stops working right away.

The language has changed

You now see the site in English. The country stayed the same: United Kingdom. Prices and the VAT explanations depend on it. Is your shop in another country? Choose it below.
