Setting up a register or phone

Employees can only log in on devices you've set up. That way, nobody can log in with a register code from just any computer. You manage the devices under Settings > Registered browsers/devices.

There are two kinds.

A shop device

This is the computer at the counter, or a tablet in the shop. All employees log in here with their name and register code.

On the device itself

1. Log in with your own account in the browser you want to use as the register. For the register, that's Firefox.
2. Go to Settings > Registered browsers/devices.
3. Give the device a name, for example Counter, and click Set up this device.

On another device

Click QR code for another device and scan the code with the camera of the device you want to set up. The code works only once and expires quickly. Can't scan? Choose Show link and open the link on that device.

After that, employees log in at easyconsign.app/pin.

A phone for one employee

Does an employee want to add items on their own phone? Then you link that phone to that one employee. The phone knows whose it is: the employee only types their own register code, and nobody else can use it to log in as someone else.

Does the shop have its own phone or tablet that several people use? Then set it up as a shop device, as described above.

1. Make sure the employee has a register code.
2. On the employee's page, choose Email a link or Show QR code.
3. The employee opens the link or scans the code on their own phone. An emailed link works for 24 hours.

After 30 minutes without use, the phone asks for the register code again. Did someone lose the phone, or is an employee leaving? Remove the device from the list. Anyone logged in on it is logged out right away.

Good to know

• The browser remembers the setup with a cookie. If you clear EasyConsign's cookies or use a private window, you'll need to set up the device again.
• A different browser on the same computer counts as a different device for EasyConsign.
