Checking out at the register
What happens when you check out, and what EasyConsign does and doesn't do with the payment.
Updated October 20, 2026
At the register, you scan the items, choose how the customer pays, and the receipt comes out of the printer. EasyConsign keeps track of what was sold and works out the consignor's share.
What you need
- A computer with Firefox. The register only works in Firefox, because the receipts are printed through Firefox.
- That browser has to be set up as a register. See Setting up a register or phone.
- A barcode scanner and a receipt printer are handy, but not required. See What equipment do you need?
Checking out
- Go to easyconsign.app/pin and log in with your name and register code.
- Scan the barcode of each item. The item goes on the receipt with its price.
- Selling something without a barcode, like a single scarf from the bin? Add it by hand with a name and a price.
- Give a discount if you like, on one line or on the whole receipt.
- Choose Cash or Card. For cash, enter what the customer hands you and you'll see the change to give back.
- The receipt prints. The items are now marked as sold.
What EasyConsign does with the payment
EasyConsign isn't a payment terminal. The customer pays the way you've set up in your shop: cash in your till, or with your own card terminal. EasyConsign records how much was paid and how. The money itself doesn't go through us.
With every sale, this happens:
- The item comes off your stock and is marked sold.
- The consignor's share is added to that consignor's balance. The consignor sees it through their own link.
- The sale shows up under Sales receipts and counts toward your revenue and in Accountancy.
- Margin goods and BTWVAT goods are kept apart for the BTWVAT.
A mistake on the receipt
Checked out something wrong by accident? You can still delete a sale from today under Sales receipts. Is it a day later, or is the customer bringing something back? Then you do a refund. See Refunds and returns.
Working the register yourself?
Then add yourself as an employee with your own register code. You log in to the register just like your employees.
